What is ContextPulse?
ContextPulse is the observability and analytics layer purpose-built for Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
Add it at the server boundary, keep your tools unchanged, and turn protocol traffic into usage, reliability, and outcome signals.
Unlike generic APMs or log forwarders, ContextPulse understands agent sessions, multi-turn tool calling sequences, client attribution (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT), and workflow completion funnels.
Core Architecture
ContextPulse wraps your MCP server instance using a lightweight, asynchronous, fail-open SDK. It operates at the protocol boundary, intercepting JSON-RPC messages and tool execution calls.
Telemetry events are batched and flushed asynchronously in the background. If telemetry fails or network conditions degrade, the SDK gracefully drops metrics without impacting agent execution.
